Exploring the perceptions of primary education executives in Greece about the role that modern school can play in promoting education for the environment and the sustainability

Abstract

This dissertation, having as a guide the principles of Education for the Environment and the Sustainability, aims to identify, research and study the role that modern school can play in promoting education for the environment and the sustainability , through the perceptions of primary education executives. The theoretical part presents the concepts of sustainability, sustainable development, the framework of education for the environment and the sustainability, as well as management issues of a sustainable school. As data collection tool was used interview. Individual interviews were conducted to collect the research material. Forty (40) primary education executives from the eastern Macedonia and Thrace region, especially from the Evros and Rodopi Prefectures participated in this research.
