Translation strategies with application in the fields of linguistics and telecommunications

Abstract

The present thesis lists the translators’ behaviors as far as the Greek language use is concerned in the special fields of linguistics and telecommunications, along with the views of undergraduate, postgraduate students and graduates of foreign languages departments, departments of primary education and early childhood education having a linguistic background, as well as translators in relation to the differentiations present in translation versions of special terms in Greek in various academic textbooks.More specifically, our research aims at inquiring the translation strategies employed by the translator each time and seeks to reveal whether various innovations in terminology rendering become widely accepted by the linguistic-translators’ society or the prevailing confusion due to different translations by linguists-translators makes the special scientists prefer foreign terms or their turned-into-Greek versions.The tools used in order to achieve the above aims were the elaborated in ...
