INTEGRAL AND INTEGRODIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS WITH LOGARITHMIC SINGULARITIES: NUMERICAL SOLUTION AND APPLICATIONS IN PLANE ELASTICITY
Abstract
THE AIM OF THE THESIS IS TO DETERMINE NUMERICAL METHODS FOR THE EVALUATION OF INTEGRALS OR THE SOLUTION OF INTEGRAL AND INTEGRODIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS WHEN THE INTEGRAND PRESENTS LOGARITHMIC SINGULARITIES AND THE APPLICATION OF THESE METHODS TO PLENE ELASTICITY PROBLEMS WHICH MAY BE REDUCED TO SUCH EQUATIONS. ASFAR AS THE EXTEND IS CONCERNED, VARIOUS COMBINATIONS OF SINGULAR WEIGHT FUNCTIONS WITH SINGULAR KERNELS, LOGARITHMIC OR CAUCHY TYPE, ARE CONSIDERED. AS FAR AS THE METHODOLOGY IS CONCERNED, BOTH THE METHOD OF "SPECIAL" AND THAT OF "ARBITRARY COLOCATION POINTS XK" ARE EMPLOYED.
