Study of the geodynamic field in Greece using modern satellite geodetic methods
Abstract
The current PhD dissertation entitled “Study of the geodynamic field in Greece with the use of modern satellite geodetic methods” is structured in eight Chapters and two Appendices. In Chapter 1, the object of the present study is briefly described, focusing on the geodynamic behavior of Greece as well as the contribution of the Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) in tectonic geodesy and seismo-logical applications. In Chapter 2, an extensive review of the geodetic reference systems and reference frames are provided. We present the most recent International and Regional terrestrial reference frames which used in geodetic applications. Also, we present some good practices of semi-kinematic reference frames that have been applied in countries with strong geodynamic behavior like N. Zealand, Japan and Taiwan. Additionally, we present the official Greek Geodetic Reference System 1987 - GGRS87 and Hellenic Terrestrial Reference System 2007 - HTRS07 are also presented. In Chapter 3, we f ...
