Entrepreneurship and education: The contribution of entrepreneurship education programs in the development of youth entrepreneurship in Greece

Abstract

The purpose of this doctoral dissertation is to present a conceptual overview of entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial education, to highlight the role and necessity of entrepreneurship education in fostering entrepreneurship and to formulate relevant research proposals.For this purpose, is attempted, through secondary research, the recording of relevant European Union policies and current situation on the Greek education system but also in other European Union countries. Moreover, the primary research in higher education institutions, using as a primary research tool the questionnaire and a sample of 786 student trainees in entrepreneurship and 85 teachers who have taught entrepreneurship courses, is an effort to investigate both the degree of student participation in entrepreneurship education programs in secondary and tertiary education and the attitudes, the opinions and the entrepreneurial intentions of students who have participated in entrepreneurship education programs such as c ...
