Modelling and evaluating inventory policies in supply networks
Abstract
On our thesis we analyze inventory policies , types of supply networks and modeling processes. We also evaluate inventory policies according to performance measures such as WIP , fill rate. As far as the structure concerns, in the first chapter we review the scientific area of logistics and we declare the aims of our thesis. In the second chapter we deal with the types of supply networks (serial, merge in, split out) and the inventory policies (continuous , periodic). In the third chapter we analyze modeling techniques such as “death – birth” processes and phase type distributions (Coxian-2) . Further on, in the fourth chapter an analysis of serial supply network with two echelons (manufacturer, retailer) is taken place. Replenishment time is distributed according to Coxian -2 phase type distribution and we assume lost sales. On the fifth chapter a three –echelon (manufacturer-wholesaler-retailer) supply network is analyzed . Again, Replenishment time is distributed accordin ...
