The coordination odyssey: regulatory cohesion and coordination at the centre of government: the greek case
Abstract
The subject matter of this doctoral thesis is about the study and focus on the coordination mechanisms at the core of the government, at the so called centre of government. The methodology followed is based on systemic and comparison method. The analysis of the coordination typology is also a methodological tool used (hierarchy, markets, networks).Special attention is given at the impact of the increased regulatory activity at achieving optimal coherence and coordination of governmental work. The Greek way of coordinating and implementing the EU law analysed consists the case study of this research. Over law-making and less effective implementation of EU regulatory framework generates excessive budgetary burden, increasing costs in violation of principles of governmental consistency and transparency.
