Handling the ethnocultural identities of teachers through their relation with preschool minority children of Trace: the example of processing επεξεργασίας narrating texts in kindergarten

Abstract

The present thesis aims to record the opinions of the teachers that were working at thekindergarten schools of Rodopi and had minority students in their class during the schoolyear 2004-05, regarding the preschool education of the minority, the processing, andnarration of texts in the classroom and the way that they handle the different ethnoculturalidentities at school. We also observed and wrote down activities of processing, narratingtexts that were implemented by the teachers, aiming to highlight their educationalpractices, the way they handled the identities in the classroom, as well as the correlationbetween teachers’ opinions and their educational practices.The research tools that we used were made by us and involved questions that we made useof during interviewing the teachers and an analysis frame for our activity observationresults.
