INTERNAL DIALOGUE: TYPES OF DIALOGUE IN THE INTERNAL WORKS OF ARISTOTLE

Abstract

THIS RESEARCH IS AN EFFORT TO PRESENT THE COLLOQUIAL STYLE OF THE ARISTOTELEAN ESSAYS WHICH EVENTUALLY ASSUMES THE FORM OF SIX TYPES OF INTERNAL DIALOGUE (A,B,C,D,E AND F). THROUGHOUT THE INTRODUCTION OF THIS DISSERTATION A BRIEF REVIEW IS PRESENTED CONCERNING THE STUDIES CARRIED OUT UP TO THE PRESENT DAY ABOUT THEWRITING STYLE OF THE ARISTOTELEAN WORKS, THE ANALYTICAL STUDY OF THE TYPES OF INTERNAL DIALOGUE OCCUPIES THE FIRST TWO PARTS OF THIS DISSERTATION. IN THE THIRD PART THE FINDINGS OF THIS RESEARCH ARE EXHIBITED AND THE WORKS OF THE ARISTOTELEAN CORPUS ARE CLASSIFIED IN RELATION TO THESE FINDINGS. ADDITIONALLY THERE ARE THREE APPENDICES IN WHICH WE CONSIDER CERTAIN ISSUES WHICH COMPLETE THE FORMATION OF THE COLLOQUIAL STYLE OF THE ARISTOTELEAN ESSAYS.
