CONTRIBUTION TO THE STUDY OF THE PNEUMONIC PASTEURELLOSIS OF SWINE
Abstract
THE AIM OF THE PROJECT WAS TO FIND OUT THE FREQUENCY BY WHICH PASTERELLAE AREINVOLVED IN SWINE PNEUMONIAS, THE SENSITIVITY OF THE MICROBE TO DIFFERENT ANTIBIOTICS AND FINΑLLY THE EFFECT OF THE PNEUMONIC PASTEURELLOSIS IN WEIGHT GAIN BY PIGS. THE RESULTS OF THE THESIS HAVE SHOWN THAT: 1. P MULTOCIDA IS THE MAIN FACTOR ISOLATED FROM SWINE LUNGS THAT HAVE BEEN INFECTED BY PRIMARY FACTORS. 2. THE SEROTYPE A IS THE ONE MOSTLY ISOLATED. 3. PNEUMONIC PASTEURELLOSIS AFFECTS THE SWINE WEIGHT GAIN NEGATIVELY. 4. ALL P. MULTOCIDA STRAINS ARE SENSITIVE TO MOST ANTIBIOTICS. HIGHER SENSITIVITY HAS BEEN SHOWN TO CHLORAMPHENICOL, GENTAMYCINE, KANAMYCINE AND TETRACYCLINE.
