DEVELOPMENT OF A LOGIC PROGRAMMING MACHINE
Abstract
THE SUBJECT OF THE THESIS IS THE STUDY AND THE DESIGN OF A SYSTEM DEDICATED TO THE EXECUTION OF LOGIC PROGRAMS AND PARTICULARLY OF PROLOG. IT IS SUGGESTED THEDESIGN OF A PROLOG MACHINE, THE SO CALLED L-MACHINE, WHICH EXECUTES COMPILED PROLOG PROGRAMS. THE L-MACHINE IS OF MEDIUM PERFORMANCE (50 KLIPS) BUT OF LOW COST. IT WAS DESIGNED SO AS TO BE THE KERNEL OF AN INTERGRATED PROLOG SYSTEM, THEUTHL, FOR THE DEVELOPMENT AND EXECUTION OF PROLOG PROGRAMS. ALSO IN THE CONTEXT OF THE THESIS IT WAS DESIGNED ANOTHER PROLOG MACHINE, THE RPM, WITH REDUCED INSTRUCTION SET AND HIGH PERFORMANCE (500 KLIPS).
