PROTECTION OF WATER HAMMER PHENOMENA IN PRESSURIZED IRRIGATION SYSTEMS
Abstract
IN THIS DISSERTATION THE PROTECTION OF WATER HAMMER PHENOMENA IN PRESSURERIZED PIPING SYSTEMS IS INVESTIGATED BY THE USE OF PRESSURE RELIEF VALUES. A MATHEMATICAL MODEL FOR THE CASE OF THE RELIEF VALUE IS DEVELOPED. THIS MODEL IS INTRODUCED IN THE ANALYSIS OF WATER HAMMER IN PIPING NETWORKS. IN ADDITION THE METHOD OF FREE VIBRATIONS IN PRESSURIZED SYSTEMS IS USED IN ORDER TO DETERMINE THE OPTIMUM INSTALLATION POSITION OF THE PRESSURE RELIEF VALUE.
