Mortality rates of patients with a hip fracture in Patras
Abstract
Wandering in the corridors of the orthopaedic clinic of any adult's Hospital, looking at the patients we see that an important number of the beds is captured by patients with a hip fracture. The hip fractures are some of the most common injuries of the oldest people for which they need to be nursed but first of all to have an operation. In spite of the improvement of the treatment methods and the shortness of the number of the nursing days of the patients, these remain the largest patient team in the most orthopedics beds. Most of these fractures are caused by the fragility of the bone and they happen mostly to oldest people (Bruns 1882). The analysis of the epidemiologic aspect of a disease is very useful for many reasons. The epidemiology is important in developing and testing hypotheses on the causes of a disease and it can offer information providing with preventive programs which intend to help every disease, giving new and probably better methods with the less economic and timing ...
