STUDY OF THE BIOEQUIVALENCE OF ASPIRIN PRODUCTS USED IN GREECE
Abstract
THE PHARMACOKINETIC BEHAVIOUR OF ORALLY ADMINISTERED PRODUCTS CONTAINING ACETYLSALICYLIC ACID WAS STUDIED IN HUMAN VOLUNTEERS. THE ADMINISTERED DRUGS, EACH OF WHICH CONTAINED 500 MG OF THE ACTIVE SUBSTANCE WERE THE FOLLOWING ASPIRIN R, COLFORT R, SALOSPIR R, NASPIN K, KALACALINE R AND CESPIRE R. THE PHARMACOKINETIC PARAMETERS ON WHICH THE COMPARATIVE STUDY WAS BASED ARE: ABSORPTION RATE CONSTANT (KA), ELIMINATION RATE CONSTANT (KE), AREA UNDER THE CURVE ([AUC] ), MAXIMUM CONCENTRATION (T MAX), ABSORPTION HALF LIFE (T 1/2/ KA) AND ELIMINATION HALF LIFE (T 1/2 /KE). IT WAS PROVED THAT (1) NONE OF THE ABOVE PRODUCTS EXHIBITS SIGNIFICANT PHARMACOKINETIC DIFFERENCES COMPARED TO THE OTHERS, (2) ALL THE PRODUCTS STUDIED CONTAINED THE PRESCRIBED AMOUNT OF ACTIVE SUBSTANCE.
