Translation and art: artistic creation as a translation act
Abstract
The subject of this interdisciplinary PhD thesis entitled "Translation and Art: Artistic Creation as a Translation Act" is the study of the relations between Translation and Art, and, above all, the introduction of artistic creation and the artwork as a translation act and a translation product respectively. The focus is not on viewing the translation process as an artistic activity, but, on the contrary, on viewing the work of art as a translation product in many ways. The first research objective of the thesis is the scientifically documented broadening of the semantic content of the terms intersemiotic translation, in particular, and translation, in general, to include the semiotic system of thought as well.
