The Natural Sciences in the publications of the Left in Greece during the interwar period

Abstract

The dissertation investigates whether the international socialist tradition identified by the literature is expressed in Greece regarding the positive attitude towards the Natural Sciences. An attitude expressed both in the educational - "popularizing" dimension of the activity of the socialist and communist movement and in their utilization in the foundation of the Marxist worldview. First of all, it is investigated whether the Natural Sciences are of concern to the socialist and communist press in Greece, according to international tradition.
