Expo grounds design: contribution to the sustainability of the environment

Abstract

The subject of research is the design and planning of expo grounds and their contribution to the sustainability of the environment. It concerns Exhibition grounds that host the event once, for a certain period of time: World Exhibitions, International Registered Exhibitions, International Specialized or Recognized Exhibitions, International Horticultural Exhibitions, Landscape Architecture Exhibitions and National Exhibitions of global scope. Εvents of certain duration that their implementation initiates large-scale transformations in the host cities or their wider environment. They involve multiple temporalities, they are perceived as spaces dynamically changing in time: before, during and after the exhibition.
