An inquiry into the use of Holy Scripture in the Patristic literature with the aid of Data Mining methods on a fully working pilot information system

Abstract

The present dissertation aims to study the use of the Bible in the Patristic literature. For the implementation of this purpose, the database created by the author in the context of his master's thesis was utilized. This large database contains the entire text of the Bible in Greek, with the prospect of including its text in other languages, organized and structured according to the requirements and rules of a database. This text was combined with the Greek edition Patrologia Graeca by J.P. Migne through an extensive list of references to the paternal texts in the Bible, compiled by professors Stergios Sakkos and Pausanias Koutlemanis.However, based on the possibilities provided by computer technology today and taking advantage of the database we have already created, we decided, in the framework of this doctoral dissertation to apply new digital methods of analysis, large in volume and complexity of data collections, with the aim to extract and manage useful knowledge standards. , so ...
