Long term results in achondroplastic patients who have undergone lower limb lengthening using the Ilizarov method
Abstract
Ilizarov method is used for lower limb lengthening in achondroplastic patients. It is also used for correcting the 3D lower imb deformity that is present in this patient group.Nineteen achondroplastic patients were treated using this method and were followed up 5-19 years after their last surgery. Their radiological image showed that the correction failed to restore them to normal range.
