The clown in a civilization of modernity

Abstract

Fields of study under examination doctoral thesis is the cinema indialogue with philosophy, history of culture and anthropology.   The study of itinerant artists set as starting point of the work inBergman and Fellini, two leading artists that marked the secondhalf of the 20th century that we could define as late modernity.More specifically it is the Night of the Clowns (Sawdust and Tinsel,English title Evening of thw Jesters) of Bergman filmed in 1953 andthe film La Strada Fellini, filmed in 1954. They are two films,where the theme of wandering artists is the central axisand which they have been shot at exactly the same time.   The Night of the Clowns and Strada can form the two arms ofjoint study, since their common points extend beyond the commonThematic.
