Abstract
THE STUDY HAS BEEN DIVIDED IN THREE PARTS: I. ANATOMICAL, WHERE THE ACCESSORY TIBIOFIBULAR LIGAMENT IS DESCRIBED, II. FUNCTIONAL, CONCLUDING THAT THE MOST IMPORTANT STABILIZING FACTORS OF THE ANTERO-LATERAL ASPECT OF THE ANKLE JOINT ARE,THE ANTERIOR CAPSULE AND THE CALCANEOFIBULAR LIGAMENT AND III. CLINICAL, COMPARING THE RADIOGRAPHIC FINDINGS OF THE STRESS TESTS WITH THOSE AT THE SURGIC ANALYZING ALSO THE RESULTS AS JUDGED BY THE FOLLOW UP EXAMINATION.
