ACTIVE CONTROL OF STRUCTURES
Abstract
THE DISSERTATION DEALS WITH THE ACTIVE CONTROL OF STRUCTURES. CONTROL IS APPLIED TO THE STRUCTURE EITHER IN THE FORM OF FORCES OR IN THE FORM OF DISLOCATIONS.THE PROBLEM OF ACTIVE CONTROL OF STRUCTURES IS FORMULATED AND THEN THE SOLUTION METHOD IS PROPOSED ACCORDING TO THE THEORY OF MATHEMATICAL PROGRAMMING. CONCERNING THE TREATMENT OF THE PROBLEM OF ACTIVE CONTROL OF STRUCTURES UNDER DYNAMIC LOADING THE SUITABLE TIME DISCRETIZATION SCHEME IS APPLIED. IN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE THEORY OF INFINITE DISPLACEMENTS WITH LINEAR CONSTITUTE LAWS, THE STATE RELATION TAKES THE FORM OF LINEAR DYNAMIC SYSTEMS OF CONTINUOUS TIME. MATRIX APPEARING IN THIS PROCEDURE HAVE A DIRECT MECHANICAL INTERPRETATION AND THEY ARE USUALLY TIME INVARIANT EXCEPT THOSE OF LOADING TO THE NUMERICAL TREATMENT OF THE LINEAR-QUADRATIC OPTIMAL CONTROL PROBLEM.
