The distinguished epirus national benefactors in Russia and their contribution to the church and the nation

Abstract

My paper is divided into four chapters. The introduction generally refers to the phenomenon of national welfare as it is concretized in continental space. In the first chapter, the biographical details of the brothers Manthos and Georgios Rizaris are given and their settlement in Nizhna and their involvement in trade and other business activities are discussed. In the second chapter, reference is made to the national and social contribution of the Rizari brothers. Specifically in the participation and support of Filiki Etairia, in the financing of the publication of works mainly by Adamantios Korai, in the establishment of schools in their birthplace, Monodendri Zagori and especially the Rizario Ecclesiastical school. The relationship of the Rizars with the Philiki Etairia is interesting. In 1817 Manthos Rizaris became a member of Philiki Etairia under the nickname "Prothymos".
